Call of Duty - Indian Army

Our flag, "TIRANGA" waves in the sky with pride and glory at every government buildings and red fort. After many years of freedom struggle, India got independence after sacrificing many of our soldier's blood. Mothers sacrificed their blood. The Britishers tore the bosom from these mother's chest and left them crying in the remembrance of their child. Still, we find that our Indian soldiers were ready to carry out their responsibilities at one call of duty.

Days passes....months passes .... Year passes.... we keep developing in our technology advancement. We keep on growing our urban standard of living. We are eager to have a luxurious life. But there is something that is still the same as it used to be decades and decades of years ago i.e. our soldiers deployed at the border. Every day or the other we find some soldiers have been martyred. They are remembered for their sacrifice. The country pays them homage but as few days passes no-one tries to recall them. Our soldiers are considered as a war machine that is used to either kill the enemy at war zone or die achieving the same. Are they not humans? Do they don't have a family? Do they don't have emotions? Do they don't have the feelings to spend time with the family as any normal working man/woman does? The answer to all these questions is Yes. They are humans who have a family to spend time with. They have emotions for their children, family, friends, society and everyone. They have the desire to celebrate festivals with their dear ones. But one thing that stops them is their "RESPONSIBILITIES". They are committed to their work. They are patriotic and keep our mother land at their priority list first. They can die but will not do anything that can lead to national danger. They protect our territorial body and are ON DUTY when they are OFF DUTY.

Nowadays, the youth are attracted towards material wellfare. They love to prepare for JEE MAIN and go to IITS, they love to crack CAT, SNAP, CET, etc and go to IIMS but it's very reasonable that approximately 80% of these students has the desire just to earn money. They have no intention in nation building. There are very few aspirants that are inclined to join the defence forces. The society has the perception that those who join the defence forces are either financially unstable or they can't afford further studies. It's not so.... there are some who are passionate to serve the nation directly. They work hard every day to join armed forces, naval forces, air force. They are the real heroes. I do not mean that other occupations do not help in uplifting the nation. They do play an important role in the development of our society. It's because of doctors that we feel safe from any disease. It's because of engineers that so many advanced gadgets have been invented. It's because of the teachers that any other occupation is grown. But the fact still remains the same and can't be denied that it's because of the soldiers that we can sleep and feel protected.

So what am I trying to convey through this article? Still confused? I'll give you the answer. Our motherland is calling us. Our armed forces are getting short off officers, they are lacking suitable candidate. Many of them have served the nation and are getting retired each year. But there are no equal number of young officers compensating the out flow. So if the difference between the out flow and the in flow of officers/ soldiers increase. It will be a huge security risk. I am not giving any data here as how many of them retire and how many are in the forces. But the differences is increasing. So it's the time now that people choose and look defence as their career options. They will have a adventurous life but a sense of self- satisfaction will always make them have a smile on their face. So its basically a CALL OF DUTY.
